How To Do SEO Yourself – 3 Simple Steps

Are you looking at how to do SEO yourself? You’ve come to the right spot. Here you’ll learn DIY how to do SEO yourself with 3 basic steps. Read on to improve your SEO game. First, I want to talk briefly about SEO and what it is, so you can understand it better. Search engine optimization is the process of tweaking your content and website to get found by more visitors through search engines queries.  This is what most of us do when we hop on a search engine such as Google, Bing, or any other search engine: Most of us won’t check search results on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th page of Google. Why don’t we do this? Because we’re at a time in technology when the most relevant content we’re looking for is shown on the first page’s search results. The more words we search for the more specific the information we’re shown.  For example; if you’re a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Dealer in Las Vegas, you want to rank for “motorcycle”. Unfortunately so does every other motorcycle company in Las Vegas.  Your goal should be to rank for the specific search that’s most relevant to what your business sells or provides.  So consider ranking for “Harley-Davidson Dealer in Las Vegas”. This can help your potential customer find you much easier. If you’re not sure what keywords to rank for, you can use keyword software such as SEMrush or Ahrefs. I use a ton of software programs for multiple things and I highly recommend these two for keyword research. So I have an idea about what keywords you want to rank for, now what? So the goal is to get your website to show up on the first page, but how do we do this? You need a plan, then do the research, then make the plan a reality. Now that you understand keyword research a bit, here are 3 of my top recommendations. You can start implementing these today to start your own SEO for your website. 1. Create a Content Strategy Start from the ground up. This means writing out the very broad sense of your business.  Let’s use that motorcycle example. Motorcycles would be what we call a pillar topic. The pillar topic is the main topic. It will branch out into subtopics (called cluster topics).  These could include motorcycle engines, motorcycle tires, motorcycle maintenance, motorcycle detailing, motorcycle storing, etc. Then you can create blog page articles that answer common motorcycle related questions such as: But if you had a more specific motorcycle dealership like Harley-Davidson you can replace the motorcycle keywords with Harley-Davidson instead.  Once you know what people are searching for from your keyword research, just start implementing that into topics you can write about. Local businesses should focus more on local SEO. This would include using cities in your main pages such as your homepage, about page, products pages, etc.  Since you’ll want to answer questions nationally, and internationally you don’t have to include cities in your blog pages. You’ll want to reach everyone that owns a Harley, not just local Harley owners near you.  2. Produce High-Quality Content Write engaging and high-quality content that gives your readers information that is useful and relevant. This means that you should create content that solves problems, provides useful tips and inspires others.  This will help make your readers more confident and build their trust in you. Your content should always be written with the readers’ needs in mind.  Here are a couple questions to ask yourself when writing: If you do this, you’ll be able to boost your search engine ranking. This is because search engines like Google, Bing and Yahoo! give priority to websites with relevant content.  Search engine algorithms aren’t easy to understand. They’re designed to determine the quality of your content. If your content is high quality, it will likely rank higher in Google’s SERPs. Most SEO agencies or content writers try their best to appease Google because it’s the most used search engine. If you’re not sure how to write content, you can reach out to us, and we can write your content for you. 3. Make Your Site Mobile-Friendly & User Friendly  If your site is not mobile friendly, you will lose visitors fast.  Here are a few things to look at on your website to check if it’s mobile friendly:  And there you have it. My top DIY 3 basic steps for how to do SEO yourself. Running a business yourself can be hard, and we know you want to do it the best way possible. But you don’t have to build your website, write your content, and do SEO yourself. Sometimes it’s nice to focus on your business and leave the search engines to the SEO marketing experts. How To Get More Calls For My Business?

You’re not the only one searching for “how to get more calls for my business”. Also, if you’re a business owner it might be better to focus on what you’re good at and leave the calls to the professionals. As you probably know, in business, there are two things you want. To sell your service or to sell your product. If the product is great, it will sell itself. But if nobody can find it, how do they buy it? With marketing and advertising of course. Whether it’s a billboard on the highway or customer word-of-mouth friends, getting the word out is very important.  Why not take advantage of the speed in which you can reach your target audience online? Business owners should all be using digital marketing to boost their visibility online and grow their business.  One strategy to improve search engine rankings and drive traffic is search engine optimization (SEO). If you’re not sure how to do it yourself, you can always get an SEO consultant. Why does my business need SEO? Having a website that is fully optimized for search engine results is the first step towards driving more customers to your business. In SEO there are basic fundamentals we use. This includes checklists, pieces of software, and techniques that give us insights into why you’re not showing up in search engines.  SEO in the easiest sense, means to get your business found online and increase your credibility on the internet. Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and other search engines take your online credibility very seriously. Your reviews, seo copywriting, backlinks, and many other factors are taken into account. That’s why it’s important to do it correctly. More than 80% of people turn to Google to find local services. So having an optimized website could help you bring more customers to your business. Having a dedicated team will help you navigate through all the technical jargon and make sure that your website is SEO-friendly from the outset.  An optimized website can also help you reduce costs related to customer acquisition. One of the biggest challenges for businesses is bringing in new customers. Without new customers, your business will fail.  A website is one of the best ways to bring in new customers. Why? Because you can continue to add written content, videos, products, and utilize SEO to get in front of your ideal customers. So instead of finding your customers, your customers find you.  How to get more calls for my business?  Start with a Free Audit Whatever marketing strategy you implement, it’s imperative to know where your website stands today and how it compares with your competitors. A free SEO audit is the best way to find out if your website needs some work. You can also find out how you can improve your rankings with a few simple changes. An SEO audit will help you identify potential issues with your website that keep it from being at the top of search results.  It will also help you identify areas where you’re succeeding and give you ideas for improving your website even further. An audit also lets you know how you can improve your website’s content, design, and user experience. Fixing issues on your site can bring in more traffic and hopefully convert those visitors into leads. Have A Responsive Website If you have a mobile phone, there is a good chance that you do most of your website searching on your phone. Most of us do. That’s why it’s very important to make sure your website looks good on all devices and not just yours. And the best way to ensure that you stay in front of your customers is to have a responsive website. If your website isn’t responsive, it’s likely that many potential customers will quickly move on and never come back. So that means you lose a sale and your competition will succeed. Write Compelling Content “Content is king” and it’s said a lot when it comes to online bloggers, writers, and business owners. Why is content king? Because it’s what the entire internet was created for… information. Without valuable and insightful information, nobody would be able to find what they’re looking for. But once they find you, you need to make sure that your website is packed with valuable content that addresses all their queries. If you’re selling a service, answer all of their questions in an FAQ page. If you sell a product, do the same thing. You want your potential customer to have no doubts about clicking that call button, form submission button, or buy button. With more and more people turning to the internet to find solutions to their problems, your website must provide helpful information. This can be the difference between making a sale and losing the potential customer to the competition.  Promote Your Website On Google And Social Media Promoting your website on Google is a great way to drive traffic to your site and get more people to find you. To do this, you need to make sure that your site appears in search results when people search for keywords.  There are several ways you can promote your site on Google. One way is through SEO and the other is through Google Ads. You’ll get more views quicker, but it can cost more if you’re in a very competitive market.  This means you’ll pay-per-click (PPC).  For example, If you have a monthly budget of let’s say $300, that’s $10 dollars a day. If you’re a lawyer in Chicago and want to show with Google ads to appear for the word “lawyer”, it will cost you $8. That means you’ll show up until someone clicks on your ad. You’ll be charged the $8 for that click and your $10 budget is done for the day. That’s why big companies in spaces with deep pockets can dominate little guys. But the little guys can really see some incredible traffic increase and calls from using SEO with the right

The Value of Building Backlink Opportunities For SEO

Backlinks are a crucial component of search engine optimization. It’s one of the best ways to give your website some authority online. Whether you’re just getting started with SEO or have been developing your SEO strategy for years, link building is important to know about. What Are Backlinks / Link Building In SEO? Link building is also referred to as inbound linking or backlinks. It’s defined as the process of acquiring clickable hyperlinks from other relevant websites which point to the URL of your website. If the site linking to you has created online credibility, that increases your own online credibility. This credibility is known as domain authority.  Domain authority is a huge component in search engine optimization and can make a world of difference in your rankings. Backlinks from credible resources can add credibility for you which is very important. Quality content Google has its own algorithm that qualifies which websites are respectable and reliable sources of information on the internet. For example, did you ever notice how when you search for movies or actors in your search engine, IMDB.com always shows up? That’s because they provide quality information about movies, TV shows, movie reviews, actors, actresses, crew members, and so on.  Because their website is trying to provide helpful quality information to those searching for movie related content, Google recognizes them as valuable. But what if IMDB.com had no SSL certificate, constant pop-ups, inaccurate information, and harmful content? Google would recognize this and no longer drive their results to the top of Google searches.  Other quality sites you’ll notice at the top of Google search engine results are Wikipedia.org for information, Amazon.com for products, and so forth. If you want to see the power of internal linking, Wikipedia is a great source to take note of. Your own quality content Whatever business you’re in, you need to make sure that you’re putting out quality products, and writing quality content with the best of intentions. If you do, you’ll have more visitors finding you, using your products, leaving positive reviews, and the only direction is up.  However, if you put out misleading content, sell faulty products, and receive negative reviews, you’ll notice your traffic will decrease.  Why Are Backlinks Important For SEO? When you build backlinks, it’s important to think of keeping a good balance between quality and quantity.  Search engines use hyperlinks to navigate through websites like roads through a country. So the more roads you can take, like the quantity of links, the more places you can end up.  So for backlink building, quality means having a website that google deems trustworthy linking out to your website. But if you are lucky enough to have quality backlinks from an authoritative website, make sure you hold up your end of the bargain.  Be sure to have quality, truthful, accurate content on your website.  If you add quality content across your website, you shouldn’t have any issues gaining backlinks from websites, articles, bloggers, and so on. How Do I Start Building Backinks For SEO? One of the easiest ways to get backlinks is through guest posting, which is a low-effort way to link back to other sites. In addition to this, you can get backlinks from specific directories. An excellent resource for finding directories is to use Ahrefs.com. Once you’ve found some that fit your brand and fit your niche, you can submit your links for review. Build relationships with other bloggers and websites for backlinks A powerful way to earn backlinks is to partner with another website and offer a service. In some ways, this is like freelancing. Even if it’s unpaid, it gives you access to other sites that are otherwise difficult to find.  Look for fellow bloggers or site owners that have good content, and can introduce your brand to their audience. This is a great way to earn a backlink and if your content is good, they won’t mind. Be sure to give them high praise and how much you look forward to reading their content or their products. Then ask for a guest post, or if they can link out from one of their live posts. But make sure to focus on building relationships with the webmaster of similar businesses. Do not choose a random business that has no reason giving you a backlink. If you’re kind when you create your email to them, they will appreciate the kind words. And you’ll be amazed at the opportunities that can come from this. Not sure you can do this yourself? We can help! In addition to web development and copywriting, Essany Marketing offers backlink help as a part of our Search Engine Optimization efforts to get you ranked higher on Google. Are you ready to take your business to the next level?

With that said, the thing about optimization is that smaller businesses can benefit from SEO. But does your company need SEO? And what are the benefits of it?  This is our top 5 benefits of search engine optimization for your business with reasons your company should invest in SEO today. 1. Does SEO matter? Yes! Search Engine Optimization (SEO) ensures your website gets crawled by Google and other search engines efficiently. After your website is crawled, the information is gathered by the search engine. Once gathered, it’s filtered through and displayed in a Search Engine Results Pages or SERPs for short.  As you get your search results, there are a ton of variables that help influence your website’s results.  That’s where SEO comes in. Marketing is a wonderful thing if you use it correctly. Let’s talk a bit about a few of the stages that make up SEO in the digital marketing world and what it entails. Keyword Research Keyword research is important for any business that has a website online. This goes for brick and mortar locations who sell products or services in-store or exclusively online.  But why?  According to SEO experts, the number one reason people leave websites without buying anything is because they didn’t find what they were looking for.  The right keywords can help your website rank higher in SERPs and get you more traffic. Content Writing This technically isn’t a part of SEO but has a tremendous impact on your traffic. Content writing or ‘copywriting’ is the reason visitors come to your page. They want to read good content and the good content + the keywords get them there. If you write good content that includes the relevant keywords, and you did your research, this is known as SEO copywriting. If you’d like to learn more check out our portfolio of copywriting samples here. Technical SEO Technical SEO consists of fixing links and crawl errors, site load time, if your site is mobile-friendly, and more. On-Page SEO On-Page SEO is how clear your website’s communication is with a search engine finding the content. This is the reason we clean up pages that may otherwise confuse a search engine. Tasks involve fixing duplicate page descriptions, titles, correct image sizes, and updating content just to name a few. Off-Page SEO Off-Page SEO is essentially anything that is not on your website and happens somewhere else but indirectly affects your rankings. Some examples include competition analysis, backlinks, optimizing Google My Business, and more.  Local SEO Local SEO is a mix of the above and is perfect for local businesses that want to stick out from their surrounding businesses.  For example if you have a local restaurant in Chicago, and there are 500 other restaurants around you, local SEO can help. This can include researching your local counties and cities, applying the correct keywords to your content, optimizing your Google My Business, among others. Many business owners tend to think they can tackle it themselves before realizing this is a skill, and it’s not that easy. Many of us breathe, sleep, and eat data. We become detectives in this space and our goal is to push you to the top. And SEO doesn’t happen overnight, sometimes it takes 6+ months to see the impact your SEO is having on a business. This is why we monitor the efforts along the way to show you what’s happening.  So why is SEO a necessity? In short, good search engine optimization makes it easier to market your product or service to the right people in the right places. The more people you have to target, the better your chances of capturing their attention and creating a sale.  If you’re looking to market your product or service to a specific niche, SEO is the best way to target that market effectively. Increased visibility and more sales A great SEO strategy increases your visibility online, which can help boost sales. Because Google is the most widely used search engine around, SEO is a great way to get noticed. SEO can even be the driving force behind more sales.  Google has an algorithm in place that favors websites that are considered to be relevant to the searches that people are conducting. And that’s where hiring a good SEO company comes in.  Also, it’s not 100% clear what Google’s algorithm wants from a website. But generally, we have a pretty good idea due to trial and error, A/B testing, research tools, and other SEO techniques. 2. SEO can help you to rank higher Google’s search engine is the most popular one on the planet. This means if your business is doing well on Google, then it is likely to show at the top of another search engine.  And while SEO is not an exact science, it does show that websites rank higher when SEO practices are in place. In fact, when you make it to the top of search engines, your web traffic will rise accordingly. That means if you want your business to rank in the top, your company should invest in SEO. 3. SEO will help you to earn more revenue The average customer spends around 45 seconds on a website when they want to check out something. SEO improves the way your customers get to your website and the content keeps them there. If your website is showing on the first

Showing your product or the services you offer, will look better on a professional website to keep them engaged and returning to your site. The entire process of working with a professional website designer will be beneficial to your business. You will have a site that’s professionally designed, functional, easy to navigate, and better than what you could build yourself. What is a professional web designer? Good web designers take care of more than just coding your site. They look at your project from start to finish and are able to custom tailor a website for your business. A professional can start with a blank canvas or revamp a current website into something special. You want them to showcase your products or services for customers so they’ll want to remain on your website. Essany Marketing asks the right questions to ensure you’re getting exactly what you want.
